Looking For a Support Worker?

Our Mission is to ease the stress for parents and care teams by providing reliable structures, routines and supports that make their life easier. We advocate for participants, support workers and facilitate successful relationships between participants and care teams.

Our model provides the participant with the flexibility and choice over the supports they have in their lives while we educate and guide the worker throughout their journey of support work at a very hands on level.

"As the Director of Skilled Carer and an ex-classroom teacher within special needs settings I believe that being a small family orientated boutique we can prioritise empathy, trust and integrity to enable sustainable growth for the individual." - Ryan Tindal | Director

ABOUT

About Us

Skilled Carer allows people to find and

unlock their individual potential.

At Skilled Carer, we inspire and enable the individual to thrive and grow their personal attributes and passions by giving them the tools and education to consistently make positive choices which enable success

Our actions have consequences; the things we do carry weight. Understanding our emotions and recognising how others are feeling are skills that need to be taught and are not innate. These skills become even more imperative to individuals with autism, ADHD and intellectual disabilities.

Our goal is to enable each person we support to live the life they choose.  We facilitate our client's goals; to re-join the workforce, get and hold a job or career, master everyday tasks, gain ownership/independence or access community services.

We provide education through the 'Zones of Regulation'. More information about the 'Zones' can be found on the Courses tab at the top of the page.

Testimonials

FB_IMG_1666770342887.jpg

“As a family affected by autism, it has been a privilege to have Ryan in our lives.

My 17 year old son has high functioning autism, adhd, and uncontrollable epilepsy.

Ryan came into our lives, as a support worker 3 years ago.

It was an immediate match, his easy-going friendly manner, sense of humour, and love of sport made my son feel very comfortable.

Ryan is a consummate professional, his vast knowledge of all aspects of life, including; teaching ASD kids, personal training, basketball coaching and a having a great healthy eating regime, he introduced a new calm to our lives...

Ryan has sought to go above and beyond for my son, he seeks a deeper understanding of all aspects of my son's life.

He has worked with my son's quirks, his social skills and relationships, his health, fitness, his potential employment and independence, and most importantly inclusion.

Ryan cares, and it shows, his kindness and compassion has been invaluable for our family, so much so, he is considered part of our family “

Helen Wilkinson, Participant's mother
